Katerina Rakmanova is a London-based interdisciplinary artist developing a research-led, practice-based performance methodology focused on contemporary ritual forms.

Originally from Moscow, and having lived and worked in Kyiv, Berlin and now London, Katerina’s practice is informed by lived cross-cultural experience and an ongoing engagement with questions of identity, transition and collective memory. These experiences have shaped her interest in how embodied artistic forms resonate across different cultural contexts.

Katerina holds an MA in Psychology (University of London) and began her professional trajectory within the arts, working in design, calligraphy and printmaking. She has delivered workshops and educational programmes in artistic disciplines, including university-level teaching in Kyiv. Her current practice represents a deliberate expansion from visual and educational formats into performative research.

She is developing a new body of work exploring how embodied performance can create contemporary ritual environments for modern audiences. Through studio-based experimentation and collaborative prototyping, she is building a distinct performative language centred on transitional states, uncertainty and reconfiguration of identity.

This phase marks a significant evolution of her professional practice, contributing to contemporary performance in England by investigating how secular ritual structures can be reimagined within a theatrical framework.
